In the capital, 354 units of specialized equipment are ready to clean more than 13 million square meters of territory
An inspection of specialized equipment was held at the production base of Astana Tazalyq LLP as part of preparations for the 2026–2027 winter season.
The event was attended by the Deputy Akim of Astana, the Head of the Capital’s Department of Public Utilities, and employees of the company. Participants were presented with the available equipment and briefed on the organization of urban cleaning operations during the winter period.
For the upcoming winter season, the company has prepared 354 units of specialized equipment, distributed across the Saryarka, Nura, Sarayshyq, Almaty, and Yesil districts. The service area covers 143 streets with a total area of more than 13 million square meters. To organize cleaning operations, 18 routes have been established. If necessary, the company can additionally mobilize up to 530 units of specialized equipment. More than 700 workers are also expected to be involved in keeping the capital clean during the winter season.
“With the support of the Astana city akimat, work was carried out this year to upgrade the company’s material and technical resources, including the procurement of 23 units of specialized equipment worth 2.9 billion tenge. The purchase of an additional 70 units of equipment is planned for the coming years. Improvements have also been made to the production facilities to create more comfortable working conditions for employees. Today, we reviewed the readiness of the specialized equipment for the winter season. We can confidently say that the company is ready to carry out its upcoming tasks,” said Yersin Otebayev, Deputy Akim of Astana.
“During the winter period, technical readiness and well-coordinated work are essential. Specific areas and equipment have been assigned to each district. We are responsible for maintaining 143 streets covering more than 13 million square meters. This is a substantial workload, especially during periods of heavy snowfall. The results of the previous winter season showed that our response times are improving and the number of complaints from residents is decreasing. This is the result of coordinated efforts across all departments. During the upcoming winter season, we will continue working around the clock, responding promptly to weather conditions and residents’ requests,” said Albert Yesaliyev, General Director of Astana Tazalyq LLP.
To ensure uninterrupted operations, the company’s equipment has been prepared for use in winter conditions, and staff schedules have been organized to accommodate the expected workload. Stocks of anti-icing materials have also been prepared, including 7,177 tonnes of technical salt and 413 tonnes of de-icing reagent.
At the conclusion of the event, employees of Astana Tazalyq LLP were recognized in celebration of the Republic Day of Kazakhstan. They received awards and letters of appreciation for their dedicated work and contribution to maintaining the cleanliness of the capital.
Behind the readiness of the equipment are the people responsible for keeping the city clean during snowstorms, freezing temperatures, and icy conditions. Their professionalism, commitment, and coordinated efforts will determine how quickly Astana’s streets are cleared throughout the winter season.
