Sanitary cleaning
The ongoing sanitary maintenance of the capital is an important area of our work. Every year, the city is maintained through mechanized, manual, and block-by-block street cleaning.
Winter Period
During the winter, over 300 pieces of equipment and 1,300 road workers work daily in a single shift to clean the area. Constant monitoring is carried out to ensure timely sanitary cleaning of areas adjacent to small and medium-sized businesses (markets, shopping and entertainment centers, residential buildings, gas stations, etc.).
Snow removal operations are carried out in the following order: preliminary raking and sweeping of freshly fallen snow, spreading with de-icing materials, creating a snow bank, and snow removal.
Snow removal primarily involves sweepers, sidewalk cleaning equipment, sand spreaders, auger rotors, motor graders, snow blowers, front-end loaders, and dump trucks. Snow removal also includes clearing access roads to public facilities.
The total area cleaned in Astana is 24,389,047 m². Of this, mechanized cleaning accounts for 9,921,447 m², and manual cleaning accounts for 14,467,600 m².
Summer Period
Summer work begins early in the morning. Street improvement is challenging work, requiring attention and time. Astana Tazalyk LLC employees perform systematic street cleaning during the summer, including sweeping, washing, and watering the roadway, and collecting debris.
Road surface watering is performed exclusively on hot, dry days when the air temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius. Washing is performed only on paved driveways. During summer cleaning, utility workers remove debris from road surfaces and reduce dust levels.
The main types of summer street cleaning are sweeping and washing the roadway. Sweeping involves sweeping, collecting, and removing trash. These operations are performed by specialized sweeping machines.
A total of 160 pieces of specialized equipment are used for street and road cleaning during the summer. This specialized equipment operates in all three districts of our city. Utility services use power washers, vacuum sweepers, watering equipment, loaders, and dump trucks.
Road surfaces are also treated and watered to prevent dust from forming and becoming airborne.
Trash collection, which is carried out by manual crews, should not be forgotten. During the summer, road curbs are cleared of debris, curbs are cleared of dirt, sidewalks are cleared of dust, dry debris, and dirt, paving stones are cleared of dust, dry debris, and dirt, and parking lots are cleaned. Loading of collected trash onto vehicles is done manually.
More than 500 people are involved in the city's cleanup efforts.
